Nuapada: Contradicting the contemporary belief of people that bureaucrats are least concerned about the welfare of people, Odisha's Nuapada district Collector Dr Poma Tudu, in an exemplary act, covered a 4-km-long hilly terrain on Sunday to address the grievances of residents of Samatapadar village, 90 km away from the district headquarters.

Accompanied by District Project Director Brusabha Chandra Nayak, she braved the hostile roads with 'lathi' in her hand.

Though the villagers initially failed to recognize the collector, they were later shocked and equally happy to see the official in the village which lacks proper road connectivity and electricity.

Tudu held discussion with the locals regarding the prime issues of the village and gave assurance for prompt solution towards the same.
