Winners of Intl Sand Art Festival held in Odisha’s Konark

Puri, Dec 5:

Curtains came down on the five-day International Sand Art Festival held on Chandrabhaga beach in Odisha’s Puri district.

On the concluding day of the annual fest, the winners were announced. In the solo category, Jitendra Kishore Jagdev was adjudged the winner and Ajit Kumar Sahoo and Niranjan Das as winners in the Duo Category.

At least 68 artists from five countries took part in the festival where they were asked to sculpt sand art on new themes every day. The closing day’s theme was climate change.

As per an estimate, around six lakh visitors thronged the beaches hardly a kilometer from the world famous Sun Temple in Konark.

Acclaimed sand sculptor Sudarsan Pattnaik was declared the brand ambassador for the festival.
