According to police sources, Sahil Mahapatra had sent a friend request to the girl, a resident of Bhubaneswar, on Facebook in May this year. After she accepted his friend request, Sahil introduced himself as a telefilm artist settled in Pune. She started talking to him on a regular basis and fell in love with him in no time.

Sahil then introduced her to a girl of Bhubaneswar namely Archana identifying the latter as his cousin sister. Days later, Archana called the girl and requested her to lend Rs 2 lakhs for Sahil saying that he is going through financial crisis.

The girl's father gave the money without any hesitation. However, Sahil didn't return the money when the girl's father asked him to refund the amount.

In order to meet Sahil, the family members of the girl went to Pune. Shockingly, they found no one staying at the address provided by him.

After realising that he has been duped, the girl's father lodged a complaint with Nayapalli police in this regard.
