Puri: Decomposed bodies of a youth and a woman were found hanging from a ceiling fan inside a house at Rencha village under Nimapada police limits in Odisha's Puri district today.

According to reports, locals detected foul smell emanating from the house and informed the police in this regard. On opening the door, Biswajeet Mohanty (33) and a woman were found hanging from the ceiling fan.

Biswajeet's father Pramod said he went to Cuttack five days ago and came to know about the deaths inside the house after being informed by neighbours.

"We have recovered the bodies and sent those for post-mortem. Investigation into the matter is underway to ascertain the reason behind the deaths," a police official said.
