Bhubaneswar: The video of a girl being stripped naked by a group of youths in the presence of her friend, which is doing the rounds on WhatsApp, was recorded in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district, said Twin City Commissioner of Police (CP) YB Khurania today.

Efforts are on to ascertain the person who shot the video and circulated it on the instant messaging platform, the police official said.

Khurania's clarification holds importance as it was earlier speculated that the incident took place in Khandagiri area of Bhubaneswar.

Notably, the victim was evidently forced by the group of youths to remove her clothes following which they recorded the incident on mobile phone and also clicked some photos. Though the girl initially opposed the act but in vain. Another youth, who appears to be her friend, was seen witnessing the ordeal helplessly.
