Heavy rainfall alert: Govt officials in Odisha’s Koraput told not to leave headquarters

Bhubaneswar: Government officials in Odisha’s Koraput have been asked not to leave their headquarters as heavy to very heavy rain, triggered by a low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal, is likely to lash the district in the next few days.

Collector and District Magistrate of Koraput, Keerthi Vasan V, has issued a circular in this regard.

The officers and staffs of all government departments have been asked not to leave their headquarters from July 20 to 23 in view of the heavy to very heavy rainfall prediction for the districts.

According to the IMD, a low pressure area has formed over the west central Bay of Bengal. The system may trigger heavy rain at several places in southern Odisha till July 24.
