Sambalpur: Tension erupted at Sarla Chhak in Odisha's Sambalpur today as activists of Bajrang Dal intercepted an auto-rickshaw reportedly carrying about one quintal of beef.

They informed police about it, following which cops reached the spot, seized the vehicle and beef and detained the driver for questioning.

According to police sources, the beef was found under the seat of the driver while conducting a search.

Vehicular movement was affected at the spot for a while as a road blockade was staged burning tyres.

Till last reports came in, the driver, identified as Muhammad Faizana, was being questioned at police station.
