Railways to run these special trains in view of Rath Yatra festival

Bhubaneswar: In order to facilitate the travel needs of devotees and manage the anticipated surge in passenger traffic during the annual Rath Yatra festival, the Indian Railways will run a pair of Rath Yatra Special Express Trains between Gondia junction in Maharashtra and Puri, on selected dates.

The details of the special train services are as follows:

Train No. 08801 Gondia Jn–Puri Rath Yatra Special Express will depart from Gondia junction at 13:30 hrs on 02.07.2026, 09.07.2026, 16.07.2026 and 29.07.2026 (04 trips) and will arrive at Puri at 10:00 hrs on the following day. Similarly, Train No. 08802 Puri–Gondia Jn, Rath Yatra Special Express will depart from Puri at 13:00 hrs on 03.07.2026, 10.07.2026, 17.07.2026 and 30.07.2026 (04 trips) and will reach Gondia junction at 07:00 hrs on the following day. 

The special trains will halt at Dongargarh, Rajnandgaon, Durg, Raipur, Lakholi, Khariar Road, Kantabanji, Titlagarh, Balangir, Bargarh Road, Sambalpur, Angul, Talcher Road, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and Khurda Road in both directions.

The train will comprise of two Luggage-cum-Divyang Friendly Coaches, four General Second Class Coaches, Ten Sleeper Class Coaches, three numbers of AC 3-Tier Coaches and one number of AC 2-Tier Coach, ensuring adequate accommodation for passengers travelling during the world famous chariot festival.

Passengers are advised to take note of the schedule and plan journeys accordingly. For updated train information, passengers may visit the National Train Enquiry System (NTES) or use official railway enquiry services before commencing journey.
