The State of Jharkhand will celebrate its foundation day on November 15. After the Indian Parliament passed the Bihar Reorganization Act, 2000, the State of Jharkhand was carved out of the State of Bihar on November 15, 2000.

The day coincides with the birth anniversary of tribal leader Birsa Munda also known as Bhagwan Birsa.

Jharkhand state has mineral resources in abundances like coal, iron ore, copper ore, uranium, mica, bauxite, granite, limestone, silver, graphite, magnetite, and dolomite. Agriculture is the major source of livelihood for around 80% rural population of the State. Rice is the major food crop of Jharkhand.

The Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) is the most exclusive power project of Jharkhand.
Ranchi University, Sido Kanhu Murmu University, Vinoba Bhave University, Birsa Agriculture University, are among the good universities in Jharkhand.

Chau is the most famous dance form of Jharkhand.
