Bhubaneswar: Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and MP Rahul Gandhi will campaign for the party ahead of the last phase Lok Sabha and Assembly polls in Odisha.

Khrage is scheduled to visit Odisha on May 29. He will address two public meetings in Balasore and Bhadrak before returning to Delhi on the same day, said AICC in-charge for Odisha Ajoy Kumar today.

The Congress president will address a public meeting at Balasore at 11 am and another at Chandabali in Bhadrak at 3 pm, said Kumar.

Similarly, former Congress president Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to address a public meeting at Sanamahitpur of Simulia under Bhadrak Lok Sabha seat at 11 am on May 30, said Kumar.

The Congress party has fielded former Union Minister Srikant Jena to take on sitting MP and BJP candidate Pratap Sarangi and BJD nominee Lekhasri Samantasinghar from Balasore seat.

The party has picked veteran leader Ananta Prasad Sethi to fight against sitting MP and BJD nominee Manjulata Mandal and BJP nominee Abhimanyu Sethi from Bhadrak Lok Sabha constituency.

Notably, six Lok Sabha seats—Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara and Jagatsinghpur—and 42 Assembly seats under them will go for polls in the last phase on June 1.
