Bhubaneswar: A day after a BCA girl student was found dead in her hostel in Berhampur city, her family members on Sunday lodged an FIR against the nephew of a Cabinet Minister in Odisha.

The 21-year-old girl was studying Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) in a private engineering college in the Silk City. She was found hanging under mysterious circumstances in a room in her college hostel on Saturday.

The deceased girl’s family members and the fellow villagers have alleged that Steel and Mines Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena’s nephew Bishwajit Jena killed her and hanged her body.

The have lodged an FIR against the minister’s nephew and urged the police to arrest him in connection with the incident.

The police have registered a case in this regard and launched a probe. The deceased’s family members and the villagers, meanwhile, threatened to launch an agitation and gherao the office of the Superintendent of Police (SP) if the cops do not arrest the minister’s nephew within 24 hours.
