Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday stated that development has gained new momentum after the formation of the ‘double-engine’ government in Odisha.
The Prime Minister was speaking at an event to mark the inauguration of RBI’s data centre and cybersecurity training institute at Jatni near the capital city.
“Eastern India is emerging as a strong growth engine for Viksit Bharat. Since the formation of the double-engine government in Odisha, development has gained new momentum. Odisha's economy is being strengthened not only by natural resources but also by technology. On the one hand, mineral-based industries are expanding, while on the other, efforts are underway to develop a new semiconductor and electronics ecosystem,” said the Prime Minister.
According to him, Odisha is going to write a new future, from mines to microchips. New investment opportunities are emerging in data centres and advanced computing in the state, opening numerous doors for its youth, added the Prime Minister.
“I assure the young people of Odisha that the big dreams they have envisioned will certainly come true. We will do it,” he said.
Speaking on the occasion, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman put emphasis on the development of Eastern India.
"The Prime Minister has long held that India's development finds its fullness in the development of Eastern India. This is the spirit of Purvodaya. When the East rises, its light reaches all of India. In that same spirit, the Reserve Bank of India and its new campus will serve the nation, protecting India's financial systems and sustaining the flow of payments that nourishes our economy,” she said.
