Jharsuguda: Trinath Gual, former president of the Jharsuguda Bar Association and BJD leader, was found dead under mysterious circumstances near a railway track at Balijuri in Odisha's Jharsuguda district on Tuesday morning.
According to reports, the body was spotted near the track at around 7:30 am. Police rushed to the spot after receiving information about a person lying dead and subsequently identified the deceased as Trinath Gual.
The exact cause of death was unclear as cops were yet to ascertain whether it was a case of suicide or murder. Family members have expressed suspicion of foul play and demanded a thorough investigation into the incident.
Police have launched a probe from all possible angles. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
The Government Railway Police (GRP) said that a suicide note was recovered from the spot. The note reportedly stated that no one was responsible for the death. Investigators are verifying the authenticity of the note.
A well-known advocate, Trinath Gual was actively associated with several social, cultural and welfare organisations across Jharsuguda and western Odisha. He was widely respected for his contributions to the legal profession and his involvement in public service activities.
Members of the Jharsuguda Bar Association described his death as an irreparable loss and expressed deep grief over the incident.
