Heavy rainfall likely in these Odisha districts till June 29

Several districts in Odisha are likely to witness heavy rainfall till June 29, said the IMD on Wednesday. Moreover, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places across the state till June 30.

Bhubaneswar: Several districts in Odisha are likely to witness heavy rainfall till June 29, said the IMD on Wednesday.

This apart, many other districts may witness thunderstorms with gusty surface winds till June 28.

As per the prediction, heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at a few places across the districts of Balasore, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Rayagada, Koraput, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Nuapada, Balangir and Gajapati till June 29. The MeT Department has issued an Orange warning in this regard.

Similarly, several places across the districts of Keonjhar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Ganjam, Puri, Khurda and Nayagarh may witness thunderstorms with gusty surface winds till June 28, said the IMD regional centre in its weather bulletin today.

Moreover, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places across Odisha till June 30, it added.

According to the IMD, some places across the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balangir, Bargarh, Balasore, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh and Sambalpur witnessed light to moderate rainfall or thunderstorms during the last 24 hours.
