Bhubaneswar: The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has appointed a new in-charge for its Odisha unit. The AICC has also appointed new party in-charges for Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.

AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge has appointed Lalji Desai as the new in-charge of the Congress party in Odisha, said press release issued by party’s general secretary (organisation) KC Venugopal today

Desai replaced Ajay Kumar Lallu as the AICC in-charge for Odisha.

Desai has been working as the chief coordinator of Congress Seva Dal, a frontal organisation of the party, since 2018. He has long experience in the organisational matters of the party.

Congress leaders Sanjay Dutt and Rajendra Pal Gautam have been appointed as party’s in-charges for Haryana and Uttar Pradesh respectively.

Lallu, a former president of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee, had been appointed as the AICC in-charge for Odisha in February, 2025.
