Puri: The Odisha Commerce & Transport Department has been providing free auto-rickshaw shuttle services for devotees during the ongoing Rath Yatra, ensuring seamless connectivity from designated parking areas to key access points near the festival venue.

According to the department, 3,990 devotees had availed the free shuttle auto service by 12:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Among the designated parking locations, Talabania Parking recorded the highest number of passengers, with 2,650 devotees using the service. This was followed by Sterling Parking, where 1,200 passengers availed the facility, while 140 devotees travelled from Samang Parking.

To make the pilgrimage more accessible, the department has also deployed special assistance for Divyang persons, senior citizens, and other needy devotees, helping them travel safely and comfortably to the Rath Yatra venue.

Officials said the initiative is aimed at reducing congestion, improving last-mile connectivity, and ensuring a hassle-free travel experience for the lakhs of devotees visiting Puri during the annual festival.

The Commerce & Transport Department reiterated its commitment to providing efficient transport services and enhancing commuter convenience throughout the Rath Yatra celebrations.
