Bhubaneswar: The state government has opened a control room at the Odisha Niwas in New Delhi in the wake of devastating flash floods in Nepal.

“A round-the-clock control room has been set up at Odisha Niwas in New Delhi to provide necessary assistance to persons from Odisha in distress,” said the office of the Chief Resident Commissioner, Odisha, in the national capital.

The control room can be reached through mobile no. 91-7428135044/8527580245 or landline no. 011-23012807.

The affected individuals or tourists from Odisha can also contact Pritish Panda, the officer on special duty (OSD) at the Directorate of Odisha Paribar, through phone no. 919583321964 for necessary help, said the state government.  

In a related development, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) issued two helpline numbers (9779851316807/9779709107500) for stranded Indian tourists or nationals in Nepal.

It is worth mentioning here that at least 95 people were killed and hundreds of tourists and locals were missing after massive flash floods in Bhote Koshi River hit several places in Nepal today.
