Sambalpur: A 62-year-old divyang man from Gautampali village under Gourpali Revenue Circle in Jamankira block of Sambalpur district has alleged that he and his family are suffering due to a mistake by the revenue department and a bank, which led to the sealing of a portion of his house despite him having no outstanding loan.

The affected resident, Dhananjaya Pradhan, claimed that neither he nor any member of his family had taken any loan from the bank. He also stated that no one in his family had acted as a guarantor for any borrower. However, the bank allegedly sealed a section of his house 19 days ago in connection with a loan recovery process.

As a result, Pradhan, his 57-year-old wife, his 35-year-old widowed daughter-in-law, and his two granddaughters aged 14 and 9 are reportedly living under distressing conditions in a single room of the house.

Repeated appeals to officials yield no relief for disabled villager

The family alleged that they have become victims of administrative lapses involving the revenue authorities and the bank. They claimed that despite repeatedly approaching the Jamankira Tehsildar and the Sambalpur District Collector seeking intervention, no resolution has been provided so far.

Pradhan said the situation has caused severe hardship to his family, forcing them to endure cramped living conditions despite having committed no wrongdoing. The family has appealed to the district administration and concerned authorities to investigate the matter and take immediate steps to restore access to their property.

Officials from the revenue department and the bank have not yet publicly responded to the allegations. Further details are awaited.
