Bhubaneswar: In a bid to further strengthen the state’s healthcare system and improve access to quality medical services, the Odisha government has approved the creation of 755 new posts across various government medical colleges and healthcare education institutions.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Mukesh Mahaling said the decision aims to enhance the quality of medical education, produce skilled doctors, and ensure the delivery of timely and advanced healthcare services to the public.
The newly sanctioned posts include seven Professors, 35 Associate Professors, 50 Assistant Professors, 29 Tutors, 248 Senior Residents, 190 Junior Residents (MBBS), 112 Casualty Medical Officers (CMOs), and 84 Blood Bank Officers (BBOs).
Once these positions are filled, the availability of teaching faculty and medical professionals in government medical colleges is expected to improve significantly. This is likely to have a positive impact on both medical education and patient care services across the state.
Mahaling added strengthening the foundation of medical education while ensuring better healthcare services for citizens remains a key focus of the government.
