Jagatsinghpur: After raising concerns over the quality of biryani served at an eatery in Jagatsinghpur district, a man was brutally assaulted, leaving him seriously injured.

A complaint has been lodged at the Kujang police station in connection with the incident.

According to the victim, Sanjay Majhi, a resident of Jaishankarpur village, he had visited an eatery near Chhak No. 15 to have biryani.

While eating, Sanjay noticed the food tasted sour and emitted a foul smell. When he raised the issue with the eatery staff, a heated argument reportedly broke out.

The situation soon escalated, and the staff allegedly attacked him with a sharp weapon, causing severe injuries. The attackers also reportedly struck his head and later dumped him by the roadside along the Cuttack-Paradip national highway.

Locals rescued the injured man and rushed him to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Based on the complaint, Kujang police have launched an investigation into the incident. Authorities are also examining CCTV footage from the eatery to identify those involved in the assault.

Further investigation is underway.
