Bhubaneswar: A man lost his life after a live fish got stuck in his throat while he was fishing in a waterbody in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district today.

The incident took place at Dighi village under Bangriposi police limits in Mayurbhanj. The deceased has been identified as Abinash Bijuli of the locality.

As per reports, Abinash caught a ‘Kau’ (Indian Koi) fish while fishing in the village pond today morning.

He reportedly placed the live fish in his mouth to prevent it from slipping. However, the fish moved deeper into his throat and lodged in his airway. Abinash began choking on the live fish and died, reports said.
