Bhubaneswar: All educational institutes in Odisha’s Sonepur district will remain closed from April 18 to 22 in view of the prevailing heatwave conditions in some parts of the state.
Sonepur Collector Nruparaj Sahu today issued an order in this regard.
As per the order, all Anganwadi centres, schools, colleges and technical institutes in Sonepur (Subarnapur) will remain closed for five days starting April 18 in view of the heatwave warning by the IMD.
However, the examinations scheduled during this period will continue and the authorities concerned can reschedule them to morning hour, said the order.
“The heads of the institutions must ensure proper provision of drinking water facilities and necessary heatwave measures for the students and staff,” it added.
The administration in Balangir district has announced the closure of all educational institutes for four days starting April 18 in view of the heatwave warning.
The IMD has predicted heatwave conditions in some districts of Odisha including Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Balangir, Sundargarh, Kalahandi, Nuapada and Sonepur till April 21.
