Bhubaneswar: A minor boy was allegedly stripped naked and assaulted by a group of individuals over suspicion of theft in Odisha’s Cuttack city.

The incident took place in Chauliaganj area of the Silver City on July 15.

The police have arrested one Pranab Sahu of Mathasahi in connection with the incident and produced him in a local court.

According to the cops, a group of individuals, including Sahu, of Mathasahi under Chauliaganj police limits had disrobed the minor boy and assaulted him over suspicion of theft on July 15. They also recorded the incident in mobile phones and uploaded a video in this regard in social media.

The group also assaulted another youth by suspecting his involvement in a theft case in the locality. “We have arrested Sahu on charges of assaulting the minor boy after disrobing him and making a video of the incident viral on social media. Three other accused in the case are on the run. Steps are being taken to arrest them,” said a police officer.
