Bhubaneswar: The Coastal Security Wing of Odisha Police will organise the State-Level Coastal Security Seminar 2026 on June 4 at Police Bhawan, Bhubaneswar.
The seminar will bring together senior officials and experts from central and state agencies to discuss the theme “Coastal Security Framework: Challenges, Gaps & Way Forward.”
The event will be inaugurated by Director General of Police Yogesh Bahadur Khurania in the presence of senior officers from Odisha Police, Indian Coast Guard, Ministry of Home Affairs, Intelligence Bureau, CISF, and other stakeholders engaged in maritime and coastal security.
The valedictory session will be addressed by Chief Secretary Anu Garg and Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Hemant Sharma, underlining the State Government’s focus on strengthening an integrated coastal security framework.
The day-long seminar will include expert lectures and thematic discussions on key issues such as emerging maritime threats, coastal security frameworks, security sensitivity mapping along the coastline, technological advancements and e-surveillance, port and Single Point Mooring (SPM) security, and the role of fishing communities in coastal vigilance.
Experts from the Intelligence Bureau, Ministry of Home Affairs, Indian Coast Guard, CISF, Kerala Police, and senior Odisha Police officers will share insights during the sessions.
The seminar aims to enhance inter-agency coordination, policy dialogue, and knowledge sharing to strengthen Odisha’s coastal security architecture and improve preparedness against evolving maritime threats.
With a long coastline and strategic maritime importance, Odisha continues to reinforce its coastal security ecosystem through coordinated efforts among security agencies, local communities, and technology-driven surveillance systems.
