Bhubaneswar: The state Cabinet, headed by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, today approved a proposal for establishment of the Odisha State Data Centre 2.0 (OSDC 2.0).
The existing State Data Centre has been operational since 2011 and it hosts over 600 government applications catering to the needs of 39 departments.
“With the present infrastructure facing capacity limitations, the establishment of OSDC 2.0 has become imperative,” said the state government.
The OSDC 2.0 will be a Tier-III compliant, secure, scalable and state-owned Data Centre, designed to meet the growing digital governance requirements of Odisha, it added.
The projects include migration of existing applications, enhancement of cyber security measures and the creation of a robust Disaster Recovery facility to ensure high availability of and resilience of critical government services, stated the state government.
The OSDC 2.0 will be established with a project cost of Rs 268.44 crore, it added.
