Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government will organise an Investors' Roadshow in New Delhi this August to attract fresh investments, with a special focus on the food processing sector, Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain informed on Saturday.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will lead the Team Odisha delegation during the roadshow and hold one-on-one meetings with leading industrialists and investors to showcase the state's investment opportunities and industrial ecosystem.
Food processing sector to be the key focus of Odisha's Delhi investment drive
Speaking about the initiative, Swain said that while Odisha is actively promoting investments in new-age industries, the Delhi roadshow will particularly highlight the food processing sector as a key area of focus.
"The Chief Minister will personally interact with investors during the roadshow. Over the past two years, Odisha has attracted substantial investments, and several industrial projects have already commenced operations. Our government is regularly reviewing investment proposals, industrial project implementation, and employment generation," the minister said.
He added that the state is also prioritising skill development to ensure that Odisha's youth are equipped with industry-ready capabilities in line with the requirements of emerging industries.
Swain said Odisha's strong performance at the WorldSkills Competition reflects the state's growing pool of skilled human resources, making it an attractive destination for investors.
The proposed Delhi outreach is part of the state government's sustained efforts to position Odisha as a preferred investment destination through sector-specific roadshows and investor engagement programmes across the country.
The state has witnessed a series of successful investment promotion events over the past two years.
In January this year, Odisha signed 27 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with an investment potential of Rs 81,864 crore, expected to generate more than 63,000 employment opportunities during the Odisha Investors' Meet Roadshow in Kolkata. The event attracted over 500 industry leaders and showcased opportunities across textiles, engineering, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, packaging, recycling, and downstream industries.
The Odisha Investors' Meet Roadshow in Gujarat, held across Ahmedabad, Mundra and Vadodara from May 5 to 7 secured eight MoUs and 63 investment intent forms worth Rs 48,330 crore, with the potential to create over 67,800 jobs. The delegation, led by Chief Minister Majhi, held over 130 structured meetings with more than 700 industry representatives, highlighting Odisha's strengths in textiles, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, port-led manufacturing, and logistics.
The upcoming Delhi roadshow is expected to build on these successes by attracting investments in food processing and other high-growth sectors while reinforcing Odisha's vision of becoming a diversified and future-ready industrial economy.
