Bhubaneswar: Exposing security loopholes at Jagannath temple in Odisha’s Puri city, a video of the rituals of Lord Jagannath inside the 12^th century shrine went viral on social media on Thursday.

The video, depicting the 'Pahandi' procession of Lord Jagannath inside the shrine on the occasion of Rath Yatra, was uploaded to two social media accounts.

The viral video was reportedly recorded at Baishi Pahacha (22 steps) inside the shrine.

The incident has raised serious concern over security arrangements at the temple. Besides, it has also raised questions over the authorities’ seriousness in enforcing the ban on the use of electronic devices, including mobile phones and cameras, on the temple precincts.  

It is worth mentioning here that a video of temple sanctum sanctorum had gone viral on social media four years ago.

Similarly, pictures of the interiors of the temple went viral on social media two years ago.
