Bhubaneswar: A video of a youth brandishing a gun and firing blank shots in Odisha’s Puri district went viral on social media.

The video triggered public outrage, prompting the police to launch a probe.

In the video, the youth is seen brandishing the gun and firing blank shots while riding a motorcycle. The video was uploaded from a social media account ‘Shridhar X Villain’.

The Puri Town police launched a probe into the incident and identified the youth as Krushna Kumar Panda of Harchandi Sahi of the Holy City.

During interrogation, Panda reportedly told police that he had filmed social media reels by holding a toy gun.

However, the locals have expressed concern over the incident and urged the people to take appropriate action to ensure public safety.

“We have made a general diary (GD) entry in this regard and launched a probe into the incident. The youth is claiming that he used a toy gun to shoot reels. We are verifying his claim,” said a police officer.
