Bhubaneswar: Thousands of aspirants in Odisha have expressed concern after the Odisha Sub-ordinate Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC) rescheduled its recruitment examination to June 28, the same day as the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET), creating confusion for candidates who have applied for both examinations.

The OSSSC recruitment examination for the posts of Revenue Inspector (RI), Assistant Revenue Inspector (ARI), ICDS Supervisor, Amin and Statistical Field Surveyor (SFS) was originally scheduled to be held on June 20. However, the examination was postponed and has now been rescheduled for June 28.

Candidates said the overlap may force them to choose one examination over the other, potentially affecting their career prospects.

The issue has been further complicated with the allotment of examination centres in different districts. Aspirants pointed out that even if the examination timings differ, travelling between distant centres may not be feasible. Candidates from rural areas are particularly worried about transportation and accommodation arrangements.

Following the announcement, several aspirants have taken to social media and email campaigns, urging the authorities to revise either the date or timing of one of the examinations.
