Bhubaneswar: The police have busted a sex racket in Odisha’s Jajpur district and detained six persons including three women in this connection.

The sex racket was operating inside a two-storey house on the Nahaka-Tentulikhunta road under Jajpur Road police station limits, reports said.

Three women allegedly involved in prostitution, two customers and a suspected middleman have been detained in connection with the case.

According to sources, police launched a raid after receiving a tip-off about the alleged illegal activity. The operation was conducted by teams from three police stations and a special squad under the leadership of Jajpur Road Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Sarat Chandra Patra.

During the raid, police seized a large quantity of objectionable materials, used and unused condoms, expensive liquor and cigarettes from the house.

“The three women would be sent to a rehabilitation home after undergoing medical examinations. The other accused persons would also undergo medical examinations before being forwarded to court on Thursday,” said the SDPO.

With the festive season underway, the police have decided to continue raids against such illegal activities in the coming days, he added.
