Jagatsinghpur: A secret camera was allegedly recovered from the women’s washroom of the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) office in Odisha's Jagatsinghpur.

While it is yet to be known who installed the camera and for what purpose, a complaint has been lodged at Tirtol Police Station. Police have seized the device and started an investigation into the matter.

According to sources, the incident came to light on May 25 when a female employee of the DRDA office had gone to the washroom. During that time, the hidden camera reportedly fell to the ground. Shocked by the incident, the employee immediately informed the Additional Executive Officer.

Subsequently, on May 26, Additional Executive Officer Girija Shankar Mallik lodged a formal complaint at Tirtol Police Station regarding the incident.

After receiving the complaint, police reached the DRDA office and initiated an inquiry. The seized camera is also being examined as part of the investigation.

The incident has raised serious concerns over the privacy and safety of women employees at the government office.

Reacting strongly, Zilla Parishad President Manoj Bhoi demanded strict action against those responsible and called for a thorough investigation into the matter.
