New Delhi: Following several complaints regarding errors in the English, Commerce and Sociology question papers of the UGC-NET June 2026 examination, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced re-examinations for the three subjects based on the recommendations of a committee constituted to examine the complaints.
In a statement on X, the NTA said it had received several complaints regarding multiple errors in the question papers of English, Commerce and Sociology. Subsequently, the agency constituted a committee to examine the reported issues.
Based on the committee’s recommendations, the NTA will re-conduct the examinations for these three subjects.
The re-examination schedule is as follows:
English: September 9, 2026, Shift 1
Commerce: September 9, 2026, Shift 2
Sociology: September 10, 2026, Shift 1
The NTA clarified candidates appearing for the re-examinations will not be required to pay any additional examination fee.
The agency also said the results for the other 84 subjects will be declared as scheduled and the allocation of seats will not be reduced.
Earlier on Sunday, the NTA released the provisional answer keys for 84 subjects of UGC-NET June 2026. The challenge window is currently open.

Processing fee: ₹200 per question challenged
Last date for fee payment: August 18, 2026, up to 11:59 p.m.
The NTA asked candidates to check its official notifications for further updates regarding the examination and re-examination process.
