Bhubaneswar: Somes Bandyopadhyay, Regional Executive Director (ER-II), NTPC, hoisted the National Flag on the occasion of the 80th Independence Day at the Pokhariput premises of NTPC Eastern Region-II Headquarters, Bhubaneswar.
The ceremony was attended by senior NTPC officials, employees and their family members, who came together to commemorate the historic occasion with patriotic fervour and pride. The unfurling of the National Flag was followed by the National Anthem, creating an atmosphere of unity, pride and collective commitment.
Addressing the gathering, Somes Bandyopadhyay highlighted the significance of Independence Day and paid tribute to the freedom fighters and national leaders whose courage, sacrifice and dedication paved the way for India’s independence. He emphasised the important role of NTPC in powering the nation’s economic growth and contributing to the country’s journey towards a sustainable and developed India.
He called upon all employees to uphold the values of integrity, excellence, teamwork and responsibility while continuing to contribute towards reliable, affordable and sustainable energy for the nation. He also underscored the importance of innovation, environmental responsibility and inclusive development in shaping a stronger and more self-reliant India.
The celebration concluded with a renewed pledge by the NTPC ER-II fraternity to contribute wholeheartedly towards the nation’s progress, development and energy security, while upholding the ideals of freedom, unity and national service.
