Odisha CEO releases data on votes cast through postal ballots

Bhubaneswar: The office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Odisha, today released the data regarding the votes cast through postal ballots till the end of third phase Lok Sabha and Assembly polls in the state.

Around 94,000 voters have cast their votes through postal ballots till the completion of third phase polls in the state, said the CEO office.

Differently-abled persons, senior citizens, people engaged in emergency services and government employees on poll duty have cast their votes through the postal ballots, it added.

Many elderly persons (above 85 years) and differently-abled persons have availed the ‘home voting’ facility in the state. Several others also took the help of PVC and PBFC to exercise their franchise in the 2024 polls, said the CEO office.

Fifteen of the 21 Lok Sabha seats and 105 of the 147 Assembly seats in Odisha have so far gone for polling in three phases. Voting for the remaining six Lok Sabha and 42 Assembly seats in the state will be held on June 1.
