Bhubaneswar: The police today unearthed a sensational triple murder case by recovering the bodies from the top of a hill in Odisha’s Balasore district.

Some villagers of Barpada under Oupada police limits in Balasore had killed three persons including a couple over sorcery and dumped their bodies on the top of a nearby hill, police said.

According to police, some villagers had beaten Dampa Singh of Barpada to death over suspicion of practising sorcery Sunday (June 30) night. They also killed Singh’s wife when she tried to save her husband, police said.

Moreover, the accused had beaten a woman, identified as Sambari Singh, to death after she threatened to reveal the incident before the locals, they added.

The accused persons carried the bodies at least 5 kms and dumped them on the hilltop.

The gruesome incident came to fore when Sambari’s son, who works in Odisha capital, lodged a missing complaint with police after he failed to contact with his mother.

The police unearthed the triple murder case after they detained six villagers and questioned them today. The cops later recovered the bodies from the hilltop.
