Odisha: Fisherman killed while exploding dynamite for fishing in Rengali dam

Bhubaneswar: A fisherman was killed while undertaking fishing by exploding dynamite at Rengali dam in Odisha’s Deogarh district today.

The deceased has been identified as Khyamanidhi Dhibar, son of Shiba Dhibar, of Asananali village under Deograh police limits.

The incident took place while Khyamanidhi along with two local youths was undertaking fishing at Rengali dam near Bhulakabahala village in the morning.

The trio reportedly exploded dynamite to undertake fishing activities in the dam. Khyamanidhi was killed in the explosion while the other two managed to escape unhurt.

On being informed, Fire Brigade personnel reached the spot and recovered Khyamanidhi’s body from the dam.

Khairapali outpost police seized the body and sent it for postmortem. The cops have also begun a probe into the incident.
