For the first time, the students will appear the examinations as per the syllabus prepared in pattern of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

The new syllabus was introduced in 2016-17 academic session for better performance of Odisha students in all-India basis examinations. For students' preparation, we had focused more on the objective type questions. However, there will be no change in the question format in the examinations, he said.

Like previous year, the question papers will carry 70 marks objective type (1, 2 and 3 marks) and 30 marks comprehensive questions (each 5 marks) in the examinations 2018. However, the ex-regular students will appear the examinations as per old syllabus, he added.
