Odisha woman hacks mother-in-law to death, surrenders before police

Nuapada: In a shocking incident, a woman allegedly hacked her mother-in-law to death over family dispute at Duajhar village under Khariar police limits in Odisha's Nuapada district today and surrendered before police.

According to police sources, a heated exchange of words ensued between Mili Meher and her mother-in-law Gunamati Meher while the former's husband Dasarathi was absent at home.

Losing her cool, Mili took a hoe and hit Gunamati on her head killing her on the spot. After committing the act, she surrendered at police station narrating the whole incident.
