Bhubaneswar: A woman allegedly strangled her 14-year-old son after he opposed her illicit affair with a person in Odisha’s Deogarh district.

The incident took place at Church Sahi of Deogarh town on July 1. The police have arrested accused Lili Sunaile and produced her in a local court.

The accused was later sent to jail after the court rejected her bail plea.

The minor boy was found dead in their house under mysterious circumstances on July 1. The police had registered an unnatural death case in this regard.

However, the boy’s father Kulamani Sunaile, who works in Chennai, lodged a complaint with police on July 2 and alleged that he had been killed by someone.

During investigation, the police came to know that accused Lili Sunaile had an illicit affair with one Ranjan Nayak. The minor boy had opposed his mother’s illicit affair after he came to know about it.

On July 1, the mother-son duo got engaged in an argument and the minor boy had threatened to reveal everything to his father.

Soon, accused Lili Sunaile strangled the boy with the help of a sari, police said.

“Deogarh SP had personally supervised the investigation. A scientific team as well as a sniffer dog was pressed in to service during the probe,” said a police officer.
