Bhubaneswar: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Nitin Nabin is scheduled to visit Odisha on May 18, a senior party leader informed on Tuesday.

According to BJP Bhubaneswar District president Niranjan Mishra, Nabin will attend the Bhubaneswar Organisational District training camp during his visit to the state capital.

Ahead of the programme, a preparatory meeting was held at the party headquarters in Bhubaneswar at around 11 am on Tuesday to review arrangements and organisational readiness for the upcoming training camp.

Party leaders and office bearers discussed coordination, participation of party workers and logistical preparations for the event, which is expected to witness the presence of senior BJP functionaries from across the region.

The visit assumes significance as it will be Nabin’s first official trip to Odisha after taking charge as the BJP’s national president. Political observers believe the visit could further strengthen the party’s organisational activities in the state ahead of upcoming electoral challenges and outreach programmes.

Nitin Nabin was elected the BJP National President on January 20, becoming the youngest leader to hold the post. The 45-year-old was appointed as the party's national working president on December 14 last year. Nabin's rise is seen as a strategic move to infuse youthful leadership into the party organisation while preserving continuity.
