Baripada: A person allegedly killed his 10-year-old daughter by slitting her throat at Gobardhanshola village under Baripada Sadar police limits in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district last night.

The accused father, identified as Sania Dehury, has been arrested.

According to reports, Sania tied her minor daughter following a family feud and killed the girl by slitting her throat.

On being informed, police reached the spot this morning. However, Sania tried to attack the cops and villagers with bow and arrow. He was later apprehended by police.

"A case has been registered into the incident. The body has been sent for post-mortem. Actual reason behind the killing can be ascertained after investigation," a police official said.
