Keonjhar: A bus conductor has been arrested for allegedly molesting and trying to rape a woman inside a bus in Odisha capital.

According to reports, the victim boarded a Keonjhar-bound bus at the Baramunda Bus Stand in Bhubaneswar yesterday afternoon. There were no other passengers inside the vehicle at that time.

Taking advantage of the situation, the conductor of the bus allegedly molested the woman and attempted to rape her.

As she raised an alarm, he asked her to return the ticket and alight from the vehicle. In the meantime, several passengers boarded the bus following which the conductor stayed quiet.

After the woman reached Keonjhar, she, along with her family members, lodged a complaint at Keonjhar Town police station.

Acting on the complaint, police today arrested the accused.
