Bonai: Three workers were killed and one more sustained grievous injuries as a speeding truck ran over them on NH-520 near Rajamunda village under Lahunipada police limits in Sundargarh district, today.

According to an official source, some workers were engaged in road construction work. They were working when the fatal road mishap occurred in the evening at around 7.30 PM. Two of them died on the spot and another in hospital while undergoing treatment.

The injured were rescued by some locals and rushed to a hospital for treatment in critical condition.

On being informed, Lahunipada police reached the spot, and seized the three bodies and sent them to the hospital for post-mortem. Police have initiated a probe into the road mishap, which is underway.
