BJD announces candidates for nine more Assembly seats in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: BJD President and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today announced MLA candidates for nine more Assembly seats and one Lok Sabha constituency.

The State's ruling party has denied ticket to four of its sitting MLAs, including Finance Minister Sashi Bhusan Behera in the fresh list.

The following candidates have been given ticket to contest the Assembly election:

Jaydev – Arabinda Dhali

Chilika – Prashant Jagdev

Khurda – Jyotindra Nath Mitra  

Begunia-Bolgad – Rajendra Kumar Sahu

Moroda – Raj Kishore Dash

Basta – Nityananda Sahu

Deogarh – Romancha Ranjan Biswal

Bari – Sunanda Das

Rairangpur – Basanti Marandi

Patnaik announced candidate for only one Lok Sabha seat today.

Cuttack (Lok Sabha) – Bhartruhari Mahtab

So far, the BJD has announced candidates for 19 of the state’s 21 Lok Sabha seats and 137 of the 147 Assembly seats.

Odisha has 147 Assembly constituencies, which will go to polls in four phases on April 11, 18, 23 and 29, simultaneously with Lok Sabha elections.
