Balasore: A shocking incident has been reported from Balasore district, where a catering worker was brutally attacked by four juveniles following a dispute over the kind of meat served at a wedding feast. The incident occurred on the night of June 24 in Athantara village under Remuna police limits.

According to reports, the altercation began after chicken was served instead of mutton at the feast, which allegedly angered a group of minors present at the event.

Later, when the catering worker stepped out of the venue, the four juveniles allegedly chased him and launched a violent assault. They reportedly attacked him from behind and slit his neck using a sharp weapon.

The critically injured victim was initially admitted to the Fakir Mohan Medical College and Hospital in Balasore. Due to the severity of his condition, he was later shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for advanced treatment.

Remuna Police have registered a case (No. 133/26) under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). All four accused juveniles have been apprehended and sent to a juvenile correction home in Angul.

Police have initiated a detailed investigation into the incident to ascertain further details.
