Raighar: In a gruesome incident reported from Raighar area of Odisha’s Nabarangpur district, a man allegedly murdered his wife and concealed her body in a septic tank to destroy evidence.

Crime triggered by suspicion

According to reports, the accused, Subash Gond from Borogam village under Jodenga panchayat, suspected his wife Manei Gond’s character. After returning home from a wedding ceremony on Saturday, an argument broke out between the couple, which escalated into violence. The husband allegedly beat his wife to death.

In an attempt to cover up the crime, the accused reportedly packed the body in a sack and dumped it inside a septic tank at his house the same night.

4-year-old son exposes the truth

The couple’s four-year-old son, who witnessed the incident, later revealed the truth to neighbours. Unable to bear the trauma, the child disclosed the sequence of events, leading villagers to confront the accused.

Following the revelation, locals informed Raighar police. The police, along with a scientific team, reached the spot and recovered the body from the septic tank late at night. The accused has been detained and is being interrogated.

Authorities have launched a detailed investigation into the case. The incident has triggered shock and outrage in the area, though an official statement from the police is still awaited.
