Bhubaneswar: The police have arrested a person on charges of raping his wife’s cousin sister in Odisha’s Koraput district yesterday.

The rape survivor has been admitted to a hospital in Koraput and her condition is stated to be serious.

According to police, the accused, a resident of Narayanpatna area in Koraput, had picked the minor girl in his car yesterday.

He reportedly offered a lift to the victim who was on her way to home in the evening.

The accused took the girl to the nearby Kaliamali hills and raped her. He fled the spot after committing the crime, police said.

Some villagers later rescued the girl in a critical condition and rushed her to a nearby hospital.
