Aska (Ganjam): In a shocking incident, a woman sustained grievous injuries after being attacked by her husband for refusing to give him money in Ganjam district on Saturday evening.

The victim, 36-year-old Rashmita Bishoyi from Khairputi village under Gangapur police limits, was allegedly hacked by her husband with a sharp weapon. The woman sustained deep injuries on her head and back in the attack.

According to reports, the accused had demanded ₹10,000 from Rashmita. When she refused, he attacked her in a fit of rage.

She was initially rushed to a hospital in Aska and later shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital, Berhampur as her condition deteriorated.

On receiving information, police reached the spot and launched an investigation. The accused has been detained for questioning, and further probe into the incident is underway.
