Bhubaneswar: The death of a seven-year-old schoolgirl under mysterious circumstances in a reserve colony area of Bhubaneswar has sparked concern among family members and locals.

The deceased, identified as Sonakshi Singh, was a student of MBS School in the city. According to her family, she had left for school in the morning like any other day.

However, around midday, Sonakshi was reported missing from the school premises, triggering panic among her family members.

After failing to locate her, the family launched a frantic search for several hours but could not find any trace of the child.
Later in the evening, locals spotted a child’s body floating in a pond in a nearby reserve colony and immediately alerted the family. She was rescued and rushed to Capital Hospital, where doctors declared her dead.

Following the incident, the family alleged negligence on the part of the school authorities and lodged a written complaint at Kharavela Nagar police station.

The grieving family has demanded a fair and thorough investigation into the incident and strict action against those found responsible.
