Bhubaneswar: The Union Government has appointed a new Vice Chancellor (VC) for the Central University of Odisha (CUO), Koraput.

The Department of Higher Education in the Ministry of Education issued a notification in this regard today. 

President Droupadi Murmu has appointed Dr. Ajit Kumar Shasany as the Vice Chancellor of Central University of Odisha (CUO), said the department. 

Dr. Shasany has been appointed as the VC of CUO for a term of five years from the date on which he enters upon his office or until he attains the age of 70 years, whichever is earlier, it added.  

Earlier, Dr. Shasany was working as the Director of CSIR-National Botanical Research Institute, Lucknow.
